Red Lights in the Daytime

By 13:15, I found myself exploring the Chinatown of Amsterdam and the renowned 'Red Light District.' Posted to the brickwork and signs throughout were notices to abstain from taking photos, and a sweeping team was making quick work of the cigarette-ridden streets.
Two personal remarks on this: cigarettes are everywhere in this city. On almost every block, there is a cigarette shop- and most are specialists. Marlboro and Camel are prominent shops in every district, and cigar shops are also plentiful. The cafés and boats seem to allow smoking contrary to the official prohibitions, and almost everyone I pass midday is holding a cigarette.
Also, the street cleaning crew use real brooms to scrape the cobblestones.
