A few hours ago, I took photos of the center I walk by every day.
The canal was filled with tourists and commuters, who stumbled about frantically. The combination of cobblestones and bicyclists puts most tourists ill at ease, and they stop abruptly for fear of injury of some kind. This causes walking in the main districts to be quite acrobatic: sometimes even ducking is involved. And the bicycles? They are truly both patient and crazy. In the past few days I have seen innumerable ways of strapping children onto bicycles (front, back, -bottom?), and innumerable bicycles without brakes speed headlong into traffic!
I also located a toko shop that sells fresh cloves. I haven't tasted these in FIVE YEARS! It is no less than heaven.
Today has been spent in recovering the use of my feet from the beautiful view of a smoky coffee house replete with conversation.
